From the first spark of connection we grow in our mother’s womb - the ground of our being. Leaving the comfort and bliss of the womb behind is our first rite of passage.
For every one of us, the journey from the womb to birth is one of the earliest imprints on our bodies and our consciousness. These latent memories are stored in the body, and can be triggered by feelings, senses, emotions, and thoughts.
In this retreat, we explore the four stages of the birthing experience - the comfort of the womb, interruptions to this blissful phase, the journey through difficulty, and emergence into the world - new life.
These stages are mirrored throughout life. The patterns from these early experiences are often repeated in our work lives, in our relationships and projects we take on.
This retreat will be a somatic exploration of clearing the womb experience and is based on the ground-breaking work of Namgyal Rinpoche.
Catherine Pawsarat brings experience and skilled guidance to this depth work through which we can free ourselves of deep patterning that holds us back.
WHO: Led by Dharma Teacher Catherine Pawasarat who trained daily with Achariya Doug Duncan (‘Qapel’) from 1998 in an intensive spiritual apprenticeship that is rare in the West. She received lay ordination from Namgyal Rinpoche in 2003 and is a lineage holder of these teachings.
After some years in Japan, Catherine Sensei with Qapel, co-founded Clear Sky Retreat Centre, in the East Kootenay Rockies, BC, Canada. Sensei has led an innovative approach there re-opening up the native animal migration corridor. She has put land regeneration, environmental sustainability and conscious community at the heart of her practice.
In addition to Buddhist philosophy and its emphasis on transformation and application in daily life, these teachings are non-sectarian and universalist and are moving toward an Integral approach.

Testimonials
Karma, womb and transcendence is one of the most important retreats I have ever undertaken. It evokes the formative impulses we all take on during the four phases of our womb experience, links them to core karmic currents, and initiates a process that will help to use them to transcend ego clinging and suffering’. - Gerry Juliani, Life Skills Coach
‘Go for it – you will never regret it- The karma womb transcendence retreat for me was a magical journey of bliss’. - Dean Nicholson, Counsellor
About Maitreya House Retreat Centre:
This is a rare opportunity to take part in the Womb, Karma and Transcendence Retreat. It will be held in the Golden Valley, deep in the ancient borderlands running between Wales and England, in sight of the Black Mountains.
Maitreya house is run as a charity by the Crystal Group - supporting these teachings of universal growth and unfolding. The Retreat Centre is a converted old stone farm house, with cabins in the grounds and with panoramic views across the valleys. Set in a beautiful and tranquil nurturing environment, many years of care and practice make it a wonderfully supportive place for a retreat.
